Artistic Programming Intern

The Artistic Programming Intern will assist the Programming Department in meeting the individual and logistical needs of presented and independent artists.
Responsibilities may include: collecting and organizing show information; coordinating housing and travel needs for out-of-town artists; assisting with artist contracts; assisting with Late Night, First Friday, and Scratch Night programming and logistics; assisting with outreach and Festival artist recruitment; purchasing, delivering, and maintaining hospitality items for artists; tracking and reporting expenses to the admin department; and assisting Programming departments with additional tasks as needed. The Programming Intern will also assist in day-to-day operations including communication with artists, mass mailings, and other administrative tasks. The Programming Intern often interfaces with artists and as such a knowledge of and curiosity about contemporary performance across the genres of dance, theater, music, comedy, cabaret, and circus is essential.
Qualifications: The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented and organized, possess great communication and people skills, and will possess knowledge of the contemporary performing arts scene. The candidate will be experienced in event coordination; a self-starter with initiative who can work on projects independently; detail-oriented and organized; able to work in a high-stress environment; flexible and adaptable to change. Punctuality is essential as well as a warm, friendly, outgoing and enthusiastic personality. If selected for an interview candidate is expected to speak with fluency about their interest and previous experience in contemporary performance.
Position: 1 open, unpaid internship, available for college credit
Dates: September- December
Hours: 15-20 hours per week
