The Coordinator is an hourly part-time position and works collaboratively with the Director of the Kardon Center to be a resource to Kardon Center arts therapists, for program development, and for administrative management of the program. We are seeking a Coordinator who will also work clinically as a music or visual arts therapist in the program with a focus on serving our Medicaid clients. The Coordinator reports to the Chief Academic Officer and the Kardon Center for Arts Therapy Director and works closely with all Program Staff.

The Arts Administration Intern will work closely with the Managing Director to support the financial and administrative operations of the organization. This internship offers hands-on experience in nonprofit arts administration, including budgeting, finance, human resources, facilities, and compliance. 

Responsibilities:

The Guest and Protection Services Senior Specialist plays a key role in front-line operations by providing the team with constant visual surveillance information and access control to help provide an exceptional guest and staff experience, as well as to ensure the safety and protection of the art collection and the Foundation’s buildings and grounds. The Senior Specialist provides a best-in-class experience to every person who works in and visits our institution. This includes engaging guests in conversation about the art collection and the Foundations history, answering questions, enforcing rules, looking out for suspicious behavior, and maintaining the integrity of our back of house spaces and processes. Guest and Protection Services Senior Specialists are part of a team that are truly the face of the Barnes Foundation and work under the direction of the Assistant Director of Guest and Protection Services to ensure a visit to the Barnes is informative, friendly, respectful and safe.

The Director of Grantmaking Programs (DGP) works closely with the Executive Director of The Pew Center for Arts & Heritage (ED) to develop, envision, evaluate and evolve all aspects of the Center’s grant making to Philadelphia area arts and culture organizations and creative practitioners.   The DGP manages the staff and oversees operations of the Center’s grantmaking initiatives, including Project Grants and the Pew Fellowships in the Arts. 

The Retail Operations Manager ensures the smooth, behind-the-scenes functioning of the Museum Store in support of a positive visitor experience. This role focuses on operational excellence—inventory, systems, logistics, and daily readiness—allowing frontline staff to focus on sales, service, and engagement. This position reports the Museum Store Manager.

Primary Responsibilities:

Lead the operational aspects of the Museum’s store and stockroom, including stock management, inbound/outbound functions, technical systems, and shipping 

The Museum Store Manager is responsible for driving revenue, merchandising excellence, and day-to-day performance of the museum store while delivering exceptional customer experience. This role oversees daily retail operations, staff leadership, merchandising, and service standards while ensuring alignment with the museum’s mission and values. The Store Manager ensures the store is visually compelling, well-staffed, and operationally sound, while managing the Retail Operations Manager and supporting a small team of part-time Sales Associates. This position reports to the Chief Strategy and

Afterschool Visual Art 

The winter/spring teaching artist afterschool position begins February 10th and runs to May 21st. Drawing and painting are the focus with the ability to incorporate other mediums. The classes run two times per week on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:00 - 5:30 pm. West Park Cultural Center operates afterschool programming in West Philadelphia. Program participants range in age from 10 to 13 witha  class size of 15.

The Garden Intern is an important part of supporting healthy living at PTM and will work within the Exhibits Department to help maintain, improve, and interpret the Please Touch Garden. This opportunity will allow the intern to experience working directly with an urban garden in an interactive children’s museum setting. Primary responsibilities for the Garden Intern include:

ARTZ in the Making is a hands-on art-making program whose mission is to generate community, creativity, and connection. We are seeking trained artist-facilitators who will create opportunities for self-expression via art-making for residents living with dementia in care communities and people living with dementia in their own homes. There may also be opportunities for dementia care pairs (people living with dementia and their care partners) to participate together. Most programs occur monthly at a range of venues across Philadelphia and surrounding counties.
