Position Title: Partnerships Coordinator

Department: Programs

Reports to: Director of Learning and Engagement

 

Position Summary

The Partnerships Coordinator will be at the center of NLM’s work to coordinate diverse partnerships with external organizations and individuals that will impact exhibition, program and implementation through a community co-curation model. The Partnerships Coordinator will lead outreach with identified partners, research new partnerships, build relationships, manage partnership projects, liaise with multiple stakeholders, and evaluate and refine engagement strategies and efforts. The Partnerships Coordinator will facilitate working sessions between NLM and external partners that involve attentive listening and dialogue, generate and assess ideas, and improve clarity about the partnership, shared vision, and next steps. The Partnerships Coordinator will work closely with museum staff, advisory groups, and consultants to ensure a smooth process.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Research and cultivate strategic partnerships and stakeholder engagement
  • Lead meetings and working sessions with NLM staff, stakeholders, and partners
  • Synthesize key points and findings from meetings and working sessions and develop reports
  • Contribute to the development of a strategic community co-curation model for NLM’s exhibitions and programs

In collaboration with other museum staff, the Partnerships Coordinator will build on NLM’s current relationships and foster new ones, resulting in:

  • Effective and transformative processes for public participation in museum exhibition planning and implementation.
  • Increased public access to resources and cultural/civic enrichment.
  • Greater visibility and problem-solving related to issues, challenges, and strengths that are important to partners.
  • Strengthened museum presence and leadership as a resource for individuals with diverse perspectives and experiences to engage in civil discourse.

 

 

Skills, Experience, and Education

  • Project management experience required
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with partners and stakeholders
  • Ability to engage diverse perspectives in constructive dialogue and develop content that is accessible and approachable to a wide range of individuals
  • Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills
  • Two or more years of experience developing and managing multiple partnerships, projects, perspectives, and goals at the same time
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent preferred, but not required

Salary  

This is a grant-funded, 2-year term position with the possibility of extension depending on future funding. Salary is negotiable with experience in a range of $47-57,000.
