GALLERY ASSISTANT

Pentimenti Gallery seeks a gallery assistant. This position requires a well-rounded individual who can balance a multifaceted role comprising client relations, artist management, and event/reception planning. Candidates must be able to pivot between back-end administrative tasks and forward-facing client relations, we are looking for someone who is both organized and personable. A passion for the arts and a sense of humor is a must.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree required.

- Minimum two years of experience in an art gallery preferred.

- Proficiency in Artsy, Adobe, and Mac OS, preferred.

- This is a complex job with many moving parts, so excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary.

- You will be working alongside the director, while also managing our art preparator, so prior management experience is preferred.

- Due to the contemporary nature of our programming a passion for, or familiarity with, the local art scene is preferred.

- We have a strong focus on social media and maintain an active online presence, so an understanding of social media best practices and an interest in staying ahead of upcoming trends is important.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Monthly exhibition coordination and management.

- Maintaining artist relations and developing gallery artist careers.

- Selling artwork both in-person, out-of-state art fairs, and online by pursuing sales leads and following up on inquiries.

Maintaining the gallery website, database, and social media platforms.

Maintenance of the gallery.

Participation in the installation of exhibitions will be required.
