About POP

Play On Philly (POP) is a non-profit organization that provides daily, after-school music instruction to over 300 K-12 students. We work in communities that historically have had little or no access to formal music education. POP offers a transformative music education experience that develops and inspires the behaviors and personal skills needed for a successful life.

 

We are seeking Site Assistants for our music center locations in West Philadelphia.

 

Job Description

Working in partnership with POP’s Program Coordinator, the Site Assistant supports the day-to-day activities for the successful operation of the program. The Assistant completes daily tasks such as assisting with opening procedures, setting up rehearsal spaces, entering attendance, end of day site clean-up and helping to uphold student citizenship policies. The Assistant will also support the Coordinator with parent communication and facilitate late arrivals and early student pick-ups. 

 

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Experience working with children in before or afterschool programs preferred.
  • Strong organization and communication skills.
  • Ability to move instruments and equipment up to 50lbs. 
  • Ability to work occasional nights or weekends as needed.

 

Compensation

$25/hour

 

On-Site Work Commitment

September 2024 – December 2024, with the potential for a second agreement for the January 2025 – May 2025 session. 

  • St. Francis de Sales School: Mondays through Thursdays, 2:00pm - 5:30pm
  • Impact Charter School West: Mondays through Fridays, 7:30 - 9:15am; additional Wednesday hours 1:00 - 4:30pm
