Consulting Internship Description

The Consulting Intern will report to the Managing Director and support the day-to-day operations of  Art-Reach’s consulting team and Project 76. This internship will provide hands-on experience and insight into a small, fast-paced nonprofit organization.

Interns will receive an introduction to cultural accessibility from a team that is fiercely passionate about making the arts accessible and affordable to everyone. The Consulting Intern will learn about nonprofit management and cultivating meaningful art experiences for people with disabilities. Interns will gain experience being part of influential projects, working directly with clients, and members of the disability community.

This intern will provide support for strategic accessibility planning for cultural organizations so that they can address their systemic exclusion of the disability community in Greater Philadelphia. The Consulting Team is working to develop efficient tools for conducting standardized assessments. They will engage in a 4-month evaluation, consulting, and strategic planning effort for the cultural arts organizations as informed by community members from the disability community, who are compensated for sharing their lived-experience as part of the planning efforts at organizations. By June 2026, the Consulting Team will have evaluated and charted a path forward for 76 organizations in greater Philadelphia.

An internship with Art-Reach is perfect for college students, recent graduates, or young professionals who are interested in a career in the cultural sector, nonprofit management, or consulting. We hope that an internship with Art-Reach will ignite a passion for social justice and accessibility in the arts!

Responsibilities include:

• Participating in general activities of the Consulting Team, working with the team to advance initiatives, and timely completion of deliverables for clients.
• Data entry, data recording and research
• Administrative tasks to support planning for the Consulting Team
• Archiving, organizing and general documentation for the Strategic Accessibility Planning
• Provide general support to the Data Manager and Project Director, managing project timelines and coordinating with other team members

Ideal candidates will demonstrate:

• Interest in Art-Reach's mission of creating equitable access to the arts
• Strong organizational skills and an ability to work independently and proactively
• Experience with customer service
• Experience with data entry and correspondence
• Familiarity with the arts and cultural sector in Philadelphia
• Comfortable using applications such as Microsoft Office, Dropbox, Survey Monkey to name a few

Additional Information:

This internship will run from the beginning of January to end of April and the weekly schedule is Monday through Thursday, 5-10 hours per week. This internship will be primarily virtual, with the potential for scheduled in-person events and meetings. Interns will receive a stipend of $1,500, paid in bi-weekly increments over the 4-month internship.
