Essential Functions  

Public Events & Programming  

• Coordinate logistics for public events, symposia, academic programs and workshops. Tasks include scheduling, documentation, vendor management, speaker travel and lodging, and front-line duties during events.  

• Serve as the lead staff for most onsite and virtual events.  

• Develop public programming and partnerships in cooperation with researchers and staff.  

Outreach  

• Oversee production of printed and electronic materials in support of Library Company programs, including drafting or soliciting copy of e-communications, newsletters, and press releases, and managing program communications calendar.  

• Work with the social media team to promote Library Company programs and events.  

• Coordinate a monthly e-news email to promote events and Library Company news.   

Administration Responsibilities  

• Gather and track event and programming metrics.  

• Ensure patron data is entered into our CRM and marketing platforms.  

• Manage budgets for public programming and events.  

• Staff the front desk of the Library (about 25 hours a week).  

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities  

• Experience with Microsoft Office, online email marketing platforms (e.g. Constant Contact, Mailchimp), CRMs (e.g. Salesforce), and web hosting platforms (e.g. WordPress).  

• Design experience using Adobe Creative Suite or Canva preferred. 

Experience, Education, and Licensure  

• Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Business/Non-profit Administration, similar degree or relevant experience  

• Experience with audio equipment (mics, speakers, etc.) preferred.  

• 1-3 years of experience in related work
