Join Our Development Team in Seeking Our Next Level of Growth
Play On Philly (POP) is a leading non-profit organization providing after-school music instruction to over 300 K-12 students in communities that have little or no access to formal music education. Through our work, we help children and youth in Philadelphia aspire to success, realize their full potential for growth, and become instruments of change in our society.
We don’t just teach music: We transform lives!
As the Individual Giving Manager, you will play a key role in executing Play On Philly’s fundraising strategy, working closely with the Executive Director, Associate Director, and Development Team to drive donor engagement and achieve explicitly outlined revenue goals. You will be responsible for overseeing the donor experience through outreach, individual relationship building, and thoughtful stewardship of gifts. By conducting research, identifying potential major gifts donors, and creating proposal materials, over time, you will have the opportunity to build and assume a major gifts portfolio.
Key Responsibilities
- Donor Database Management: Maintain donor database and information tracking processes regarding acknowledgement, recognition, ongoing communications, and continued cultivation of past and current donors to enhance their relationship with POP.
- Portfolio Management: Personally manage and engage a portfolio of approximately 100 donors contributing gifts under $5,000 through personalized touchpoints, including calls, meetings, and events.
- Campaign Design & Execution: Lead and implement major campaigns, manage donor lists, and coordinate mailings to drive support for POP’s mission.
- Proposal Development: Draft compelling proposals and stewardship materials for donors in both your portfolio and the Executive Director's portfolio.
- Annual Fund Growth: Help develop and execute a plan to formalize and expand POP’s Annual Fund, including collaboration with the Special Events Manager to engage annual givers.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Coordinate with the Communications & Partnerships Manager to stay informed about business partnerships, marketing materials, and external communications. Work closely with the Special Events Manager to successfully execute major fundraising events, securing sponsorships and overseeing guest invitations.
- Development Committee Reporting: With the Executive Director, report to the Development Committee on the progress of fundraising efforts and engage them in stewarding financial resources.
