This is a 5-month interim position that will begin in February and end on the last day of our fiscal year (June 30, 2022) with the possibility for renewal.
This part-time position will be responsible for collaborating with both the Artistic and Education departments to create content about our programming and set goals and plans for audience growth, education programs, and increasing our presence and awareness in Norristown. A creative thinker who is deadline-driven, the Marketing Specialist will collaborate with other staff members to shape and promote Theatre Horizon’s brand and identity.
With a $1 million annual budget, Theatre Horizon produces an ambitious season of plays, musicals and concerts for the general public, while educating nearly 1,000 children annually in the Philadelphia suburbs via our drama classes. Theatre Horizon is located in Norristown and serves a diverse array of stakeholders. Candidates for this job must prioritize being part of an actively antiracist environment. Like most theatre companies in this moment, we are asking big questions about our purpose during and after the pandemic and are seeking to innovate in ways that prioritize our values.
MARKETING:
Create and set marketing strategies, goals and plans for audience growth and education programs
Work with Webmaster to create webpages for each production; update and maintain programming on Theatre Horizon website
Create and coordinate printing and mailing of all marketing materials, including show & education descriptions and season announcements
Coordinate with contracted graphic designers to assign deadlines and ensure all graphics are delivered in a timely manner
Oversee Public Relations Consultant and assist with Social Media management and content solicitation and creation for Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. Communicate with PR Consultant about press release opportunities, season announcements and opening night
Explore ad trades with other theaters and partners
Serve as the record keeper of the marketing department; save archival materials and record media mentions.
Develop concepts for, coordinate and execute photoshoots and video shoots.
Arrange archival recordings of productions.
Develop concept for 1 promotional video for each Mainstage production.
Hire photographer for promotional shoots (for season and for each production),
Hire videographer for promotional video and archival shoot.
Work with Graphic Designer to create marketing signage for physical space
