Position Description: Glen Foerd seeks an energetic On-Water Program Coordinator to support its environmental programs. The On-Water Program Coordinator will directly manage the kayaking and other on-water programs, and in conjunction with the Environmental Program Manager, will oversee, schedule and help train seasonal employees as well. This full-time, year-round position will report to the Environmental Program Manager. 

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for leading the Summer Kayaking Program.
  • Assist the Environmental Program Manager with all environmental programming, including the following established programs:
    • Summer Teen Environmental Program
    • Waterborne Youth Boatbuilding Initiative
  • Provide support for public environmental programming.
  • Assist with managing the community garden.
  • Assist with the planning, care and use of the arboretum. 
  • Serve as Glen Foerd’s representative to the Riverways Operations Committee.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental studies or a closely related field desired.  Equivalent experience will also be considered.
  • Significant on-water experience with kayaks, rowboats, and/or motorized boats 
  • On-Water safety certifications are a plus.
  • At least two years of experience developing and implementing programs designed for youth from diverse communities
  • Demonstrated experience with public programs in partnership with community members
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Experience conducting water quality tests
  • Experience working with Eventbrite; Mailchimp; Squarespace; Typeform; and Canva is a plus
  • Prior experience leading a team preferred.
  • Night and weekend work are required.
  • Valid driver’s license required.

Compensation: $42,000 - $45,000 annually, healthcare benefits
