Museum of the American Revolution
The Museum of the American Revolution seeks a creative and collaborative individual to produce high-quality video content that deepens and broadens engagement with the Museum. Reporting to the Director of Marketing, the Videographer will film and edit video content for distribution on a variety of digital channels, including (but not limited to) the Museum’s website, YouTube and Vimeo channels, organic and paid social media, and in-gallery and live-event activations.
Primary Responsibilities
Shoot high-quality video using the Museum’s camera, lighting, and sound equipment.
Edit and produce video and create motion graphic content using Adobe Premiere and Adobe After Effects.
Contribute to photography production and advanced photo editing.
Archive media assets and maintain a highly organized storage system.
Build and maintain the Museum’s YouTube and Vimeo channels according to best practices.
Collaborate with the Social Media Manager (and others) to shoot, edit, and produce short-form video content for social media audiences.
Collaborate with stakeholders across the Museum and alongside the Marketing and Communications teams to gather, script/storyboard, produce, film, and edit video and audio content for various strategic content initiatives.
Produce necessary captioning and transcriptions for video and audio files to ensure accessibility compliance.
Support the Museum’s AV Specialist for events and in-gallery media activation as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
Experience/Skills/Abilities
At least two years of experience creating video content as a producer, editor, and videographer.
Strong production and editorial skills.
Exceptional communication and organizational skills.
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Experience running small video shoots using lighting, sound, and camera equipment.
Portfolio demonstrating both short-form and long-form visual storytelling skills, professionalism, and ethics.
Clearly defined and well-articulated production process.
Experience in the full suite of Adobe Creative Cloud.
Experience creating closed and open video captioning.
Strong interpersonal skills, professional maturity, and flexible disposition.
Ability to communicate clearly about digital initiatives with non-technical staff.
Strong attention to detail to ensure consistent production quality and aesthetics across projects.
Ability to work weekends, early morning or evening hours, or holidays as needed.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in media arts, broadcast or multimedia journalism, film/television production, or related field.
