Purpose: Guide and manage the brand, tone and voice of the College through internal and external communications that align with our Strategic Direction; build and lead Moore’s media presence regionally and nationally to enhance the College’s brand, reputation, and support enrollment goals; partner with Admissions and create stories/messaging for prospective students and families; curate student stories to project Moore’s authentic voice in print, social and digital formats; manage the College’s brand standards in all marketing communications; author and support senior leadership communications and cultivate marketing communications messaging unique to the College and develop Advancement communications to support fundraising goals; support Student Affairs messaging to align with retention and engagement goals and help promote The Galleries at Moore.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree (master’s preferred); at least 5-7years of experience in marketing, communications, journalism, business writing, or media relations
- Master storyteller with excellent command of prose
- Exceptional oral and written communication, time management, and organizational skills
- Experience in higher education field preferred
- Skillful project management and reporting experience
- Experience in managing highly skilled marketing communications teams.
- The ability to multitask to complete projects simultaneously and to adhere to deadlines.
- Creative approach to graphic design and content development.
- Knowledge of marketing communications project management tools, media connections media trends, and awareness of new market communications technologies.
- Experienced in SEO techniques to ensure writing is digitally relevant
- Fluency in Spanish preferred
Responsibilities:
- Drive and create original content to share Moore’s authentic voice to prospective students, and their families as well as current students and families to impact enrollment in BFA, MA, and CE programs for web, digital, magazine, and print
- Plan and implement new content for targeted content streams including Faculty Five, Alluminiaries, Rockstars, and Alumni Heroes series with an in-depth yearly editorial calendar.
- Create compelling and engaging current student and alumni content for web and social media to support Admissions and Advancement goals
- Develop media relations strategies to enhance Moore’s reputation regionally and nationally with a focus on our faculty, majors, and artistic excellence
- Plan and execute bi-annual Moore magazine content combining alumni, current student stories and corporate partners that support the College’s brand and Advancement goals.
- Oversee and create Admissions recruitment print and digital materials, email development, and digital assets (Viewbook, social presence, and promotional videos) with the graphic designer, writer and external vendors
- Be immersed in Admissions enrollment goals, audience, and operations to provide marketing/communications support seamlessly
- Harness media relationships and unique promotional opportunities to promote all signature events at the College for reputation and brand-building
- Enhance executive visibility and author and/or edit materials for leadership
- Create strategic communications for all CE programs from printed materials, digital ad copy, student stories and social content.
- Partners with Academic Affairs to promote faculty, their artwork and accomplishments for impactful storytelling
- Garner media opportunities and execute social media/content development strategies for The Galleries at Moore to highlight exhibitions, student and faculty work, and alumni art and design work
- Manage internal email communications with the President’s office and Chief of Staff for monthly outreach
- Cultivate and support Student Affairs goals for student retention and engagement
- Edit, create, and organize web copy for Moore.edu and Moore.edu/viewbook to improve search result performance using the latest SEO techniques
- Spearhead Advancement marketing communication strategies by elevating alumni stories digitally and in print, creating event invitations, annual appeals, and scholarship messaging, supporting alumni speakers' events, and collaborating with the Advancement team to align with their fundraising goals
- With graphic designer, manage signage requests from the campus community for wayfinding, upcoming events, or admissions needs
- Partner with VP on Crisis Communication management for the College
- Manage project management software system for the marketing communication team and provide weekly/quarterly reporting on productivity
- Manage budget request, invoice processing, and administrative duties for the creative team and their projects
- Manage creative team members in marketing communications and cultivate professional development opportunities for them
- Adhere to departmental budget requirements and reporting, work with vendors on contracting for services and tracking of expenses for those services
