The Park Ave Community Center (PACC) is a non-profit 501(c)3 serving Delaware County. Our mission is to provide foster creativity, build connections and promote the wellbeing of the community through our inspiring programs, classes and events. The Creative Living Room (TCLR) of The Park Avenue Community Center delivers the children, youth and family programs. Operating since 2008, our classes, camps, and workshops have aimed to promote creativity and curiosity in kids and families, fostering artistic expression, bravery to try new things, and strengthening family bonds and community connections through the arts.
Summer Camp Overview
Now in our 17th summer, our weekly-themed creative camps immerses kids ages 5 -12 and youth ages 11-15 in imagination, fantasy, adventure and crafty skill-building. Our programs are designed and led by professional teaching artists and supported by teen assistants and volunteer counselors-in-training and a dedicated full-time Summer Camp Manager.

Role Description
This is a W2 seasonal contract role for a Summer Camp Manager at The Creative Living Room. The Manager will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day camp operations, supervising staff, communicating with camp families, assisting with camp activities and ensuring a positive experience for all the campers.
Media Location: Congregation Beth Israel of Media. The property is adjacent to Linvilla Orchards and has vast amount of outdoor space and access to the township trail system.
Swarthmore: Park Avenue Community Center in the heart of Swarthmore Town Center. Accessible to SEPTA train.
The Summer Camp Manager collaborates closely with the teaching artists in program planning and managing the daily tasks of assigned camp assistants and counselor-in-training. The Camp Manager supervises the safety and well-being of the campers and in the primary role to implement all Health & Safety or Emergency Action plans as provided by PACC, TCLR or the facility.
Qualifications
- Supervisory Skills, Operations Management
- Experience in running camps and managing camp activities
- Strong Communication and Customer Service skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- A background in arts education or child development is a plus
- First Aid and CPR certification required by the time position starts
- Experience in any variety of educational settings and/or camps required
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Must be over 21 years old and current PA background clearances
This is a W2 seasonal position with no additional benefits.
Must have reliable transportation to the facility.
Hours: 7:45am - 5pm
Dates: June 15 - August 22*
Camp Prep week is June 15 - 19 that includes teen staff training dates.
Media location: Weekly camp themes run June 22 - August 21; no camp on 7/3.
Swarthmore location: Weekly camp themes run June 22 - August 14; no camp on 7/3.
Planning meetings are scheduled for April 26 and May 17 and are paid.
