Title: Ceramic Studio Cooperator (Part-Time)

Location: Utility Works, Lansdowne

Schedule: Flexible

The Ceramic Studio at Utility Works is seeking a part-time studio cooperator to join the Ceramic team! This is an unpaid volunteer position, where you will instead receive studio access and other exciting opportunities in exchange for your time. Working directly with the studio coordinator, you will help develop a creative space and become an integral part of the studio community.

Responsibilities

● Dedicate 6-8 hours to help maintain the studio

● Assist with studio maintenance: 

      ○ Reclaiming clay

      ○ Loading and unloading kilns

       ○ Cleaning

● Work directly with the Studio Coordinator to:

      ○ Provide input in studio decisions

      ○ Assist in planning, organizing and hosting ceramic related events

      ○ Develop studio policies

● Monitor during Open Studio

● Opportunities to teach classes (monetary compensation)

 

Compensation

This is a part-time unpaid position, you will instead be compensated with:

● Free kiln firings

● 5’ x 7’ personal studio space

● 24/7 access to the studio

● Access to resources and materials in the studio and our Maker’s Space

● Potential creative opportunities

 

Experience Preferred

Relevant practical experience in Ceramics, with willingness to learn more about the material. Reliability, attention to detail, and proactive communication style. Team oriented, with the ability to accomplish tasks independently.
