FringeArts

The FringeArts Master Electrician supervises all lighting needs for FringeArts events. Event
responsibilities include but are not limited to FringeArts Presented works (shows, festivals, fundraisers),
rental events, and Fringe Bar programming and rental events. Supervising presented works can pertain to
both onsite and offsite events, as needs dictate. This position reports to the Director of Production.

Duties and Responsibilities:
● Assist the Director of Production with lighting event advance, including reviewing riders, attending
production meetings, seeking and confirming rentals/borrows, creating and executing project
plans, and corresponding with technicians, designers, clients, and coworkers
● Collaborate with Production Coworkers on technical and facility needs for shows and events
● Supervise and participate in lighting load-in, tech, and load out for presented shows, rentals, and
events
● Operate lighting for presented shows, rentals, and events
● Provide ad hoc lighting design services to FringeArts as needed, i.e. busking or creating looks for
renters using house plot
● Train and supervise overhire staff
● Cover for Production coworkers as needed - cross-training provided by FringeArts
● Organize and relay lighting needs to any overhire onsite technician for all events Master
Electrician does not work
● Record and complete ongoing maintenance projects in any capacity as needed
● Attend regularly scheduled department and staff meetings
● Along with other Production Team members, maintain all FringeArts physical inventory,
performance spaces, backstage spaces, and the Production office area
● Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications and Requirements:
Minimum of 2-4 years experience in theater lighting and programming with extensive lighting setup, ETC
Ion programming, and troubleshooting experience; strong leadership skills; excellent verbal and written
communication skills. Experience with international artists, touring companies, and work in non-traditional
venues is a plus. Must be fully vaccinated. Physical work including but not limited to lifting 50 lbs, climbing
ladders, climbing stairs, working at height, and personnel lift operation is required. Night and weekend
work required.

 

Benefits:
● $25/hour, guaranteed minimum 35 hours/week
● This is a full-time non-exempt position. OT available after 40hrs/wk and for hours worked 12a-8a
