Youth Art Instructor 

Abington Art Center is seeking a Youth Art Instructor for the following Saturday morning classes:

 

Little Bit of Everything

A class for ages 4-6 to explore various art techniques and mediums. The goal of this class is to explore making and introduce our youngest aspiring artists to be creative.

Description: The perfect class for your budding artist! Offering the chance to explore different materials such as paint, pastels, cardboard construction, modeling clay and fibers, your child will get to explore art and build skills. Celebrate your child’s innate creativity in this fun class!

9 Saturdays beginning April 11, 2026 from 9:30am-11am

Draw, Paint and Print

A class for ages 7-9. This class starts with basic drawing skills and incorporates painting as well as printmaking. Materials available are basic art supplies including pencil, marker, oil pastel and watercolor on paper. Acrylic paint on canvas and exploring etching, gelli printing, monoprinting or collagraph.

Description:  Learn how to use color, shape, and design in exciting and new ways using a variety of art materials from pencils to mixed media. Tap into your inner artist by creating artworks that display your skill and imagination. Students will improve their drawing skills while exploring materials.

9 Saturdays beginning April 11, 2026 from 11:30am-1pm

 

Qualifications

Interested teachers and teaching artists should have experience teaching the age group you are applying for and a BA or BFA. All Teachers must provide PA Clearances to work with children when hired. Salary starting at $25 per hour.

Located on a historic 27-acre campus in Jenkintown, PA, just outside of Center City Philadelphia, Abington Art Center presents art exhibitions, visual arts classes and cultural events for the Montgomery County and Philadelphia area, along with private events.
