Are you passionate about marketing, social media, and the arts? The Colonial Theatre is seeking a Marketing Intern to support our Marketing Manager in promoting our exciting lineup of films and live events. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in marketing, PR, and audience engagement while contributing to a historic and vibrant cultural institution.
Location: The Colonial Theatre, On-Site
Duration: 10 weeks (20 hours per week: Tuesday-Thursday 9:00 AM – 3:45 PM)
Compensation: $1000 total
Responsibilities:
• Assist in developing and implementing marketing for live events and film screenings.
• Create engaging content tailored to different platforms, including social media and email marketing.
• Help maintain the Colonial’s brand voice across digital and print communications.
• Support the promotion of events by researching outreach opportunities and engaging new and existing audiences.
• Help with managing social media comments/ messages and targeted event promotion.
• Data entry, email building, and website updates.
• Developing and managing promotional campaigns.
• Attend and document Colonial events.
• Collaborate with the Marketing Manager on campaign execution and performance analysis.
Ideal Candidate:
• Interest in or currently pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
• Strong writing, proofreading, and communication skills.
• Familiarity with social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, TikTok) and basic content creation.
• Interest in the arts, entertainment, and community engagement.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
