Position Overview: Lil’ Filmmakers, Inc. is seeking a passionate and organized Film & Media Education Coordinator to support the coordination and implementation of our Story to Screen and Real to Reel programs. This role is ideal for someone with experience related to film and media arts, along with experience working with youth and program planning. The Film & Media Education Coordinator will work closely with teaching artists, students, and community partners to ensure successful program delivery, engagement, and impact.
Key Responsibilities:
Outreach & Partnership
- Research and coordinate outreach to schools, community organizations, and industry professionals to expand program reach and secure youth participation.
- Coordinate all aspects of program enrollment, including the application and registration process, participant communication, and scheduling for schools and community sites.
- Facilitate outreach efforts through social media, presentations, and informational sessions to promote program opportunities and engage potential participants.
Program Coordination & Implementation
- Coordinate scheduling, logistics, and daily program operations for the Story to Screen and Real-to-Reel programs, ensuring seamless program execution.
- Assist with the recruitment and onboarding of teaching artists.
- Coordinate teaching artists’ placement and scheduling.
- Serve as a backup facilitator for program sessions and workshops in the absence of teaching artists, providing engaging and effective instruction.
- Organize and maintain program materials, equipment, and resources to support youth filmmaking projects, ensuring accessibility and proper use.
Youth Engagement & Support
- Provide on-site support and guidance to participants.
- Cultivate a supportive and inclusive learning environment that empowers students to express their creativity and collaborate effectively.
Program Evaluation & Improvement
- Track and maintain accurate records of participant progress, attendance, and engagement.
- Assist in conducting post-program evaluations, and gathering feedback from participants, staff, and stakeholders to assess program effectiveness.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or a minimum of three years of experience in filmmaking, media arts or arts education.
- Proven experience working with youth in educational or mentorship settings.
- Strong organizational, communication, and facilitation skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.
- Position requires local travel to program sites, including schools, community centers, and partner organizations within the Philadelphia area. Reliable transportation is required.
