Arch Street Meeting House Preservation Trust (ASMHPT) seeks a Visitor Services Associate to provide visitor services and operations assistance at Arch Street Meeting House.
This is a part-time (roughly 19 hours per week) hourly and nonexempt position. This position reports to the Museum and Education Manager of ASMHPT. Pay rate is $20.00/hr. This is a seasonal position, filled during the times the museum is open to the public and available for rentals from April-December, with flexibility on weekends and evenings to assist with rentals and programs.
Benefits: $200.00/month stipend for health insurance and sick days.
General Schedule: Thursday-Saturday 9:30-4:30, includes a ½ unpaid lunch break. Flexibility depending on rental schedule required.
Responsibilities:
- Greet all visitors, individuals and groups, when they arrive at the meeting house. Process visitor entry fee transactions and respond to inquiries related to the building's history.
- Conduct tours, field trips and education programs on days we are open to the public.
- Assist with rentals and onsite building use as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Front-line customer service experience is required, including working with a POS system and engaging face-to-face with the general public.
- Experience working with students preferred;
- Organization, time management, problem solving, and decision-making skills;
- Ability to maintain a flexible schedule to supervise the logistics of programs and events as needed;
- Written, verbal, and interpersonal communications skills including experience working with individuals from diverse cultural and economic backgrounds.
- History experience is not required.
