Production Designer

Role Summary: Kole Made is seeking a Production Designer with (3+ years) of experience in technical drawings for manufacturing and production in a wood shop setting. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys collaborating with designers and fabricators to bring custom creations to life. In this role, you’ll work closely with our team to translate conceptual designs into precise technical drawings and cut sheets, assist with CNC operations, and build our CNC library. Your expertise will directly impact our ability to produce one-of-a-kind, high-quality custom builds while also exploring new design possibilities.

Location: Hybrid (Philadelphia-based; remote and on-site as needed).
Weekly Schedule-Hours: Part-time hourly; hybrid
Rate: $28-35/hr

Key Responsibilities

• Convert conceptual visuals into fabrication-ready shop drawings and cut sheets.
• Create technical and accurate measurement-specific drawings and directions for the team.
• Collaborate with project managers and fabricators to ensure designs are optimized for production.
• Troubleshoot design and fabrication challenges to improve efficiency.
• Organize and maintain project files and documentation for streamlined workflows.
• Complete tasks as assigned by management.

Preferred Skills:

• Develop and maintain the CNC library in Mozaik.
• Potentially operate CNC machinery, depending on experience.
• Surveying is a plus.
• Familiarity with CAD (Computer Aided Design) and 3D modeling.

What We’re Looking For:

• 3+ years of experience and (requested) portfolio 
• Proficiency in 3D modeling and production software (working knowledge of SketchUp, Mozaik, or similar software is required). 
• Strong understanding of fabrication techniques and how designs translate into real-world builds.
• Meticulous attention to detail when creating shop drawings and measurements.
• Familiarity with woodworking materials, cabinetry methods, and shop machinery.
• Familiarity with cabinet installation.
• Experience with CNC operations and technical drawing creation.
• A passion for quality craftsmanship and innovative design.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills in a creative, agile, technically accurate, and deadline-focused environment.
