The Pennsbury Society (501 C 3) at Pennsbury Manor Historic site seeks qualified applicants for our entry level Museum Assistant position.  Duties involve providing school and daily tours, front desk operations, light custodial and office work, and serving as part of a team at this accredited museum. Applicants should have a degree in a related field (such as History or Education) or comparable experience. This position is full-time and paid through the Pennsbury Society. The Assistant Manager, Play Operations serves as the museum’s daily Manager on Duty (MOD) and is responsible for the successful oversight of museum floor operations. The Assistant Manager will work across departments to ensure high-quality playful visitor experience and excellent customer service to all museum visitors. This position will coordinate play and family experiences in museum exhibits and programming spaces, oversee daily floor operations, and be responsible for scheduling floor coverage and other administrative duties in the Museum Learning department.

Shofuso is a traditional-style Japanese house and nationally ranked garden in West Fairmount Park, Philadelphia, administered by the Japan America Society of Greater Philadelphia (JASGP). We preserve, maintain, and interpret Shofuso and provide educational programs about Japanese arts, business, and culture. The site is open air with a 1.2 acre garden and a structure with open doors and breezeways in all seasons.
