This seminar is specifically for agency decision-makers (board members, executive directors, department heads) – anyone responsible for strategic planning, policy formulation, and resource allocation.
As such, this is not a session on daily volunteer management. Rather, it will focus on laying the most effective foundation for volunteer success and a chance to identify institutional barriers and bridges to volunteering that are the responsibility of the top management level of an organization, including:

Introduction to Budgeting
As the economy continues to change and remain uncertain for many of us in the nonprofit community, many organizations are revisiting current budgeting practices.
This workshop provides a review of financial terms and concepts and an overview of basic budgeting practices. The content is designed for executive directors of childcare organizations with annual budget sizes between $100,000 and $500,000, and other staff leaders seeking to enhance their budgeting experience.

As a key part of the Secrets of Philadelphia evening, listen to a brief presentation by Thomas H. Keels, author of the books Forgotten Philadelphia: Lost Architecture of the Quaker City, Wicked Philadelphia: Sin in the City of Brotherly Love, Philadelphia Graveyards and Cemeteries, and his upcoming book Rainbow Cities. Keels will discuss the 1926 Sesqui-Centennial and the birth of the American Swedish Historical Museum.
