Please Touch Museum

 

Please Touch Museum seeks part time (up to 24 hours weekly) Guest Experience Facilitator who is responsible for creating a fun, safe, and accessible learning experience through play for all guests. S/he will interact with children and families and provide efficient, high quality service to all visitors.  This position models educational and creative play experiences both inside and outside the Museum. Implement programs and effectively deliver the Museum’s educational content and work collaboratively with the education and exhibits departments to assure a 5-star experience for all Museum guests. 

 

S/he will use all components in each exhibit hall to achieve the highest quality guest experience possible. S/he will be expected to provide coverage to all exhibit spaces, monitor exhibits for cleanliness and the need for maintenance and repair and report these issues and address other guest concerns to ensure a 5-star guest experience for all visitors to the Please Touch Museum. 

 

Responsibilities includes but limited to: provide proactive and positive visitor engagement experiences for Museum guests or at off site Museum programs/events; implement interactive educational programming; actively engage with children in play experiences; accessible to assist with school groups and birthday parties ; specialized training in specific areas of the Museum;  ensure the Museum’s rules, safety standards and sanitation requirements are followed; perform daily opening/closing duties; attend regularly scheduled staff ; support interdepartmental special events/programs  

 

Minimum Requirements: Must have a high school diploma/GED. Associate degree or some higher education courses preferred. Must have a child clearance background check prior to hire. (Includes fingerprinting); must be willing to authorize a criminal background check; must be able to work one weekend day; experience working in a Museum setting and demonstrating commitment to the job, professionalism, flexibility, great play skills and top-notch customer service; demonstrates excellent customer skills with a focus on family and young children; must have previous experience in customer service, preferably in a museum, recreational or hospitality environment; excellent verbal skills that demonstrate 5-star customer service skills; handles customer questions and complaints with professionalism; must be able to maintain an energetic performance throughout the day.
