Please Touch Museum seeks a Guest Experience Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all Guest Experience Facilitators including the orientation, training, discipline, hiring and supervising of staff. S/he will establish daily scheduling of floor staff, troubleshoot any deviations from the schedule and ensure proper staffing of all areas of the museum floor. They are also responsible for the implementation of emergency procedures and first aid. S/he will model play experiences throughout the museum using all components in each exhibit hall. Will be responsible for training staff and incorporating all methods developed by the Manager of Guest Experience to ensure that the highest quality visitor service experience is delivered consistently.
Essential functions are, but not limited to: Oversee coordination of the museum floor; will ensure a safe and playful environment; responsible for various administrative duties, such as creating the daily/monthly schedules, maintain daily attendance database, disciplinary documentation, training, communication to floor staff on various programs; responsible for hiring quality Guest Experience Facilitators, orienting, training, and appraising staff, assist as needed on the floor to provide added support ; will be responsible for observing performance and appropriately act on the situation in a timely manner; responsible for training new staff during orientation periods and observing training needs. Implement emergency action plans and maintain the safety of guests; create functional daily schedules and coordinate with other departments to staff events; cross train in specialty areas of museum operations, including Carousel, Birthday Parties, School Groups and Community events.
Minimum Qualifications: Associate Degree required in hospitality, business, or Education or related field. Demonstrates good leadership skills. Excellent customer skills with a focus on family and young children. Training experience required. Proven experience with negotiation, problem analysis and problem resolution. Minimum of two years’ experience in Gallery programs or related. Enjoy interacting with young children without dominating their play. One year of supervisory experience with demonstrated ability to lead a large group of part time and full time staff. CPR/ First AID certification preferred. Excellent time management skills. Proven ability to meet deadlines and flexibility. General computer knowledge a must. Payroll system (ADP) & scheduling required. Excellent written skills. Excellent verbal communication skills. Able to speak in front of a large group and provide training to other staff members. Must demonstrate exceptional interpersonal skills and professional attitude.
