Media, Marketing, & Concert Production Associate (PT, 16 hours per week average, 50 weeks per year)
Network for New Music, Philadelphia’s premier organization for commissioning and presenting contemporary classical music, invites applications and/or nominations for a Media, Marketing, & Concert Production Associate to oversee digital strategy and content development for social media, marketing, and event production, as well as other public-facing aspects of a vibrant and well-established new music organization, founded in 1984. Together with the Artistic Director and Executive Director, you will have the opportunity to work closely with some of the region’s prominent performers and a wide variety of emerging and highly regarded composers and play an important role in strengthening and diversifying the musical culture of Philadelphia.
Network's next Media, Marketing, & Concert Production Associate will be a flexible, self-motivated, detail oriented professional who works well both independently and as a team player and has excellent communication skills (both oral and written). Associate will have experience with a broad range of media/production tools to create, maintain, and deliver promotional and media content to industry relations and audience members, and will work closely with the Executive and Artistic Directors to support all activities related to production of scheduled events and pre- and post-concert related tasks, taking a leadership role where appropriate. The Associate will also lead in the creation and implementation of media and marketing strategies and related collection and analysis of metrics to measure audience impact. The ideal candidate will be proficient in web maintenance and design and have experience with CRM software. Related to concert production, the Associate will manage the creation and distribution of rehearsal schedules and venues for each concert, develop good working relationships with ensemble musicians, create and design concert programs, assist with box office duties and function as stage manager. The candidate will also support any staff team projects outside of the scope of the main job description as needed.
Season activities typically take place between September and May and include 4–5 concerts, supplemented with additional educational activities and donor events. The Associate is expected to attend and participate in weekly staff meetings. While the successful candidate must be based in Philadelphia, the average 16 hours a week position allows for significant flexibility in terms of scheduling and much of the work can be done remotely. Required Qualifications: College degree; excellent communication/writing skills; ability to work independently and meet regular deadlines and lead where appropriate; excellent attention to detail; broad fluency in digital media; familiarity with Apple, Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Suite; evening and weekend hours as needed, and daytime flexibility; should have car or access to car as needed for concert production; ability to lift up to 40 pounds; attendance required at all Network concerts and office presence required occasionally for weekly staff meetings and on-site tasks.
Desired Qualifications: Familiarity with contemporary classical music, concert stage management and ensemble rehearsal scheduling; experience with DonorPerfect CRM, Squarespace, Hootsuite, Constant Contact, Survey Monkey.
Additional Skills and qualifications: A successful candidate should have experience working closely with musicians, music creators, and is interested in cultivating relationships that support Network’s activities. They should demonstrate an ability to adapt plans to accommodate shifting priorities and diverse perspectives and approaches.
Compensation: $15,200-$16,000 commensurate with experience; successful candidate will be provided with Apple/MAC laptop for Network use.
