Play On Philly (POP) is a non-profit that provides daily, after-school music instruction to over 250 K-12 students. We work in communities that historically have had little or no access to formal music education. We are seeking Teaching Artists for our music center locations in West Philadelphia.

New Music Ensemble Relâche Seeks Part-Time Managing Director

Relâche, an adventurous contemporary ensemble dedicated to performing the music of today, seeks an entrepreneurial freelance Managing Director who will cultivate wider funding sources, increase our visibility, and expand our opportunities to commission and showcase the works of today's exciting composers. This is a new position created to bolster our longstanding mission of commissioning new works by diverse composers and exposing wide audiences to music that reflects the tenor of the times we are living in.  The plan is for this position to grow into a full-time Executive Director position, which will depend on successful fundraising and marketing activities.

The Singing City (SC) Assistant Conductor and Director of Community Engagement serves as the primary artistic support staff to the Artistic & Music Director in all rehearsals and concerts during the SCC season and directs the choir community concert program. He or she is expected to have had a minimum of three years' experience in assisting or directing vocal and/or instrumental ensembles.

Singing City was founded as an integrated choir in 1948 in Philadelphia by Dr. Elaine Brown. For over half a century, Singing City has been Philadelphia's premier avocational chorus, committed to bringing people together through music. It grew out of the Fellowship House movement, which believed that differences between races, religions, and cultures could be bridged by ordinary people coming together in shared activities.

In addition to its deep commitment to inclusion and community building, Singing City has consistently achieved the highest levels of performance practice and artistry. The chorus has performed with the Philadelphia Orchestra, Leningrad Philharmonic, and Israel Philharmonic, and has to its credit a number of critically acclaimed national and international concert tours and festival appearances. The 80-member strong chorus is led by Artistic & Music Director Jeffrey Brillhart and continues to fulfill its original mission, which today encompasses an educational program for youth, T-VOCE (Teen Voices of the City Ensemble), and programs for under-served populations.

Position Description

Reporting to and in partnership with the Board President and the Treasurer, the Development Director will lead development efforts to support the continued growth and evolution of The Bach Festival (BF) and Choral Arts Philadelphia CAP). Known for performing historically informed choral music, BF/CAP offers a full season of programming and special projects. The Development Director is a part time, salaried position.

The Chester Children’s Chorus seeks proposals from qualified digital media creative consultants to develop and execute short-term and long-term digital communications and marketing strategies to facilitate outreach to all segments of our stakeholder community.

Established in 1971, this community orchestra is dedicated to providing outstanding musical experiences for the residents of the Delaware County area and performs four symphony concerts and four chamber concerts each year. The symphony concerts feature outstanding professional soloists as well as challenging symphonic repertoire and the chamber concerts provide opportunities for orchestra musicians to play diverse chamber music selections. Rehearsals and concerts take place in the beautiful 300 seat Meagher Theater at Neumann University in Aston, PA.

The originating organization of the Philadelphia Chamber Music Society, Marlboro Music is widely considered to be the world’s leading center for the in-depth exploration of chamber music. Under the artistic leadership of pianists Mitsuko Uchida and Jonathan Biss, each summer in southern Vermont, some 80 musicians of diverse ages and backgrounds live together with staff members, spouses, and children, forming one large and nurturing musical community. 

Commonwealth Youthchoirs(CY) seeks a full-time Librarian / Production Stage Manager

POSITION SUMMARY:  The CY Librarian / Production Stage manager is a two part position, as Librarian serving as the main liaison between the CY Artistic Director and the conductors of each choir  to ensure that all printed music is distributed to all singers in each conductor’s choir to ensure that each choir transform singers’ lives through the power of song, and also serving as the Production Stage Manager for all CY Performances and major rehearsals for those events.

Commonwealth Youthchoirs (CY) is the 501c3 that administers six choral education programs for over 800 young people in the Greater Philadelphia Region: Keystone State Boychoir (KSB), Pennsylvania Girlchoir (PG), Garden State Girlchoir (GSG), New Jersey Boychoir (NJB), Find Your Instrument! (FYI!), an outreach program in underserved schools, and Musical Theater Geek Chorus (MTGC), CY’s newest program - for our musical theater fans!

WXPN is looking for a host/producer for World Cafe, its 2 hour daily national music program distributed by NPR. S/he will primarily be responsible for interviewing guests, writing and recording the daily show, and collaborating with World Cafe staff on various production elements for radio and digital.
