Music Teacher

Ready to make music, and make a difference? Can you play piano, guitar, violin or sing?

We’re looking for flexible, creative, and responsible musicians to teach in-home lessons on piano, voice, guitar, and more to kids of all ages and skill levels. No teaching experience? No problem – we’ll train you!

Be part of a true community. With Meridee Winters you won't be on your own. You can gather and collaborate with our dynamic and diverse community of gigging musicians, composers and music lovers. You will jam in monthly workshops, brainstorm new teaching ideas, solve problems and grow as musicians and educators together. (And yes, many a band has formed as a result of our teacher workshops!) Musicians of all backgrounds, races, and genders, are welcome, safe, and supported here at MW!

Our Story. . .
Since 1990, Meridee Winters School of Music has inspired thousands of Main Line students with convenient and creative in-home music lessons. Our playful yet practical approach is customized for each student's personality and interests. Meridee's method offers a unique mix of innovative and user-friendly materials, including over 600 resources: dynamic games, skill drills, creative activities, songwriting labs, and lesson books. You'll get training and access to this as a teacher of the school.

How we are different:

We are NOT a Franchise, Chain, or Instrument Store

We are W-2 employment, NOT independent contractors. As a W-2 employee, you have a flexible customized schedule and the security of workmen's comp, unemployment, and social security.

Qualifications. Our ideal candidate:

Has several years musical training/experience with at least basic piano skills (as that's our most popular instrument)

Can sight read music at least at a basic level (Not sure? Reach out - we can send you a piece of sample music to look over and see if it's playable for you.)

Has passion and enthusiasm for working with kids (but it's ok if you don't have teaching experience – we train!)

Access to a reliable vehicle (our lessons are taught in students' homes)
