Writing Thank You Notes That Inspire Future Gifts
During this webinar, we'll look at several typical thank-you letters that just don't cut it (you've probably received ones like this yourself, and maybe even sent some like them!).
We'll look at ways to improve them so that they graciously thank the donor, while also taking the necessary steps to start a long-term relationship with that supporter.
We'll look at great thank-you notes for a variety of situations that nonprofit staff encounter daily, from first and repeat donors to event and corporate sponsorships.
We'll also touch on how often to say "Thank you!" and other ways to show your gratitude to your supporters.
You'll leave with an understanding of what goes into a great thank-you letter and several outlines you can use in your work immediately.
Kivi Leroux Miller, founder of Nonprofit Marketing Guide.com, will teach this webinar.

How to Find Emotion in Every Mission
But what if your nonprofit is a think tank? Or creates policy? Or is dedicated to research? Or it’s a professional association?
Can you still have emotion in your appeals? Yes. There’s always a story buried somewhere. What you do impacts people either directly or indirectly and that means emotion is there too.
Don’t believe me? Send in one of your direct mail, email, or other fundraising and marketing communications and our guest expert – professional copywriter Karen Zapp – will rewrite a portion of it to demonstrate how it can be done.
Learn from the “before-and-after” examples to see how you can strengthen the copy in your appeals. And if you prefer to keep the name of your nonprofit anonymous, we can “sanitize” your copy. You’ll still benefit from a free edit of your copy and the other webinar attendees won’t know who you are. Just include this anonymity request when you send in your appeal.
Karen Zapp, creative engineer turned copywriter and blogger at Zapp's Nonprofit Blog, will teach this webinar.
Kivi Leroux Miller, president of Nonprofit Marketing Guide.com, will moderate your questions for Karen.

Email Marketing and Fundraising Part 1: Getting Started
During part one of this two-part webinar, in an easy-to-follow process, we'll cover the seven steps you can follow to take your e-newsletter from boring to brilliant. We'll answer all of these questions and more:
What kinds of articles work best and how many should we include?
How can we use e-newsletters to move our supporters to act?
How long should our email newsletter be?
What should it look like?
What kind of graphics and photos should we include?
What's the most important part of an email newsletter?
Are there templates we can use?
Do we have to know HTML?
How do we get people's email addresses?
Can I send the email newsletter from Outlook or do I need to sign up for an email newsletter service?
How do we comply with the federal CAN-SPAM law and avoid the spam filter?
How can we measure the effectiveness of our emails?
We'll have plenty of time for your specific questions too.
Then on June 21, I will makeover your enewsletters.

Getting Your Nonprofit Grant Ready
All nonprofits want grants but some aren't quite sure what to do in preparing to make sure they receive a grant.
There are six critical areas that nonprofits often overlook when preparing grant applications. While writing grants isn't rocket science, it does take more than just piecing an application together. The organization itself is responsible for the legwork that goes into getting the grant funded.
By following some simple guidance, your organization could be receiving many more “granted” requests than “denied.” In this webinar we’ll uncover:
How to position your nonprofit to shine in a more positive light
How to give funders more confidence in you
How marketing and communications plays an important role in the grant writing process
Why you can’t simply “cut and paste” communications reports into grant applications
Betsy Baker of Your Grant Authority will lead this webinar.
