Nonprofits in a Post-Madoff World: A New Era of Legal Challenges with respect to Protecting Assets and Executive Compensation
Attend this seminar to learn the latest on challenges facing nonprofit organizations in light of recent scandals, including managing/securing investments, increased government scrutiny of compliance matters, and executive compensation. This seminar will be presented by Candice Toll Aaron, Co-Chair of the Corporate Governance Practice Group, Richard T. Frazier, a Partner in the Health Law Practice Group, Robert H. Louis, Co-Chair of the Personal Wealth, Estates and Tax Department, and John F. Stoviak, a Partner in the Litigation Department. Katayun I. Jaffari, Co-Chair of the Corporate Governance Practice Group, will serve as moderator.
The seminar will cover:
* How to best secure and protect assets in an uncertain investment environment
* What to do if the worst happens and your organization is victimized in an investment fraud or scandal
* Compensation policies: best executive compensation practices, how to avoid IRS penalties for excessive compensation
* Issues in retirement plans, both qualified and nonqualified
The first 30 minutes will be registration and breakfast, followed by a 75-minute presentation. A 15-minute Q&A will follow.
