Fairmount Park Conservancy exists to champion Philadelphia’s parks. We lead capital projects and historic preservation efforts, foster neighborhood park stewardship, attract and leverage investments, and develop innovative programs throughout the 10,200 acres that include Fairmount Park and more than 100 neighborhood parks around the city. Role Summary:
Fairmount Park Conservancy (the Conservancy) seeks a Finance & Development Associate to provide support to our busy Finance and Development departments. The candidate will perform a range of finance and development support related tasks, and will be detail-oriented and self-motivated. Candidates will be expected to flexibly manage the challenges of a fast-paced environment with frequently shifting priorities, while understanding the larger goals of the organization and contribute to our growing nonprofit’s mission and impact. This position will interact with all levels of staff throughout the organization, and a high level of professionalism and confidentiality are critical to this role. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong decision-making ability are equally important.
Finance Responsibilities:
Manage daily deposits with data entry into Raiser’s Edge & Financial Edge as appropriate
Coordinate Accounts Payable process, including invoice entry, check processing, staff credit card collection & entry, and vendor management
Complete monthly bank reconciliations for cash and investment accounts
Generate invoices for contracts, grants, and contributions
Assist with bi-weekly payroll processing
Assist with general ledger reconciliations and maintenance
Other duties as assigned
Development Responsibilities:
Complete data entry for all gifts from individuals, foundations, and corporations using the Raiser’s Edge donor database system
Prepare all donor correspondence, including timely acknowledgments, relating to annual giving, membership gifts/fulfillment, foundation/corporate support, and special events
Assist in executing Membership and Annual Appeal campaigns
Input new database records and update existing records for donors, prospects and contacts
Create and share donor information from Raiser’s Edge as needed with staff including; pulling mailing lists and maintaining current membership list
Maintain confidentiality of donations and personal information
Assist development department with mailings and special events as needed
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Minimum Associate’s Degree with at least 2 years’ experience in finance support
Excellent organizational, prioritization and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast paced environment
Excellent written and verbal communications skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Knowledge of Raiser’s Edge and Financial Edge preferred, but not required
Interest in and commitment to the mission of the Conservancy
Compensation:
Salary for this position is competitive and commensurate with experience. The Conservancy offers a generous benefits package including health, dental, and vision, as well as life, disability and retirement plans.
