Glen Foerd

Position Summary: The Development Coordinator will be responsible for managing Glen Foerd’s internal development processes including donor cultivation, individual giving, manage and update constituent databases, conduct general background research on donors and prospects, and assist the executive director with organizational/executive assistant needs. 

Responsibilities

Database Management 

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date database records, including contacts, accounts, and donations, to ensure comprehensive and reliable record-keeping. 
  • Collaborate with the Salesforce consultant to customize the database, ensuring it effectively meets the organization's specific needs and objectives. 

 

Grants 

  • Draft grant requests under $10,000 with guidance and support from Glen Foerd’s development consultant. 
  • Prepare and submit detailed and accurate grant reports to fulfill funder requirements.  
  • Act as the in-house resource for guidance on allowable expenses for grant budgets, ensuring compliance with funder requirements. 

 

Individual Giving

  • Develop and manage a robust pipeline of prospective donors at various stages of the giving cycle
  • Successfully solicit and close gifts from individuals that align with Glen Foerd's mission and strategic goals
  • Collaborate with the Glen Foerd team to plan and execute cultivation and stewardship events for donors and prospects
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive planned giving program for Glen Foerd
  • Establish a planned giving society to recognize and engage major donors

 

Donor Communications 

  • Draft donor correspondence for the Executive Director. 
  • Draft compelling appeal emails, working collaboratively with the Marketing Manager. 
  • Prepare and send acknowledgment emails and letters for donations, ensuring timely recognition of donations. 

 

Administrative Assistance 

  • Manage and maintain the Director’s calendar, including scheduling meetings, appointments, and coordinating availability. 
  • Assist with fundraising event planning, including coordinating logistics, managing donor relationships, and supporting on-site execution. 
  • Support the Director and Business Manager with financial record-keeping, including serving as an in-house resource on allowable expenses for grant budgets.
  • Other duties as requested.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in history, art, museum studies, education, or a closely related field. Equivalent experience will also be considered
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in development 
  • Database management experience required
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Excellent organizational abilities to manage development logistics effectively
  • Ability to collaborate and work well within a team is essential
  • Creativity in visual communication is valued
  • Proven experience in a fundraising role, with a proven track record of identifying, cultivating, soliciting, and closing gifts from a diverse range of donors
  • Familiarity with tools such as Soapbox Engage, Mailchimp, Squarespace, Typeform, and Canva is advantageous
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new software platforms
