VOLUNTEER MANAGEMENT: Creating a Win-Win Experience

August 11, 2011 - 5:00am

A workshop for nonprofits that wish to attract, engage, and retain volunteers in different capacities within their organizations.

WHAT WE’LL COVER:

Effective volunteer programs can save your nonprofit money by supplementing staff services, but is your organization maximizing the volunteer experience, for both the volunteer and the organization? If the volunteer experience is managed properly, your volunteer programs can not only save money and staff time, but they can also become a pipeline for advocates, donors, and board members. This session will help you make your good volunteer program into a great one with a higher return on investment than you thought possible.

PRESENTER:
KATHLEEN WELSH BEVERIDGE, President, Spark Nonprofit Consulting will share her extensive knowledge of what works in both large and small nonprofit volunteer programs while delivering useful insight into what experiences volunteers are looking for, and what nonprofit leaders can do to cultivate volunteer talent to help the organization in creative ways.

As a result of this session, participants will:

-Understand how to structure your volunteer program for maximum return
-Develop training strategies for staff who work with volunteers
-Learn ideas for engaging volunteers in meaningful ways that can lead to a greater investment

Who Should Attend:  Executive Directors, management-level staff members, and Board members who are responsible for managing volunteers either on an ongoing basis or for special events.
