The Environmental Scientist leads the institute’s science communication efforts around climate change and other environmental topics. The Environmental Scientist is a member of the team of staff scientists who support the mission-driven needs of the organization, providing expertise and content for a wide variety of programs and outlets.
Doctoral degree required in an environmental science field. Experience with STEM communication and outreach is required, with work in a museum setting preferred. The individual must have a proven ability to build meaningful collaborative relationships and be adept at communicating science, both verbally and in writing, to a wide audience with the appropriate familiarity with educational theory. Demonstrated experience in handling media questions, requests for information, and on-air presentation is a plus. Computer literacy is expected.
