Unconscious Bias Series

The Unconscious Bias Series is back with a fresh format and new community facilitator!

The Cultural Alliance is excited to announce that we are partnering with Exude to bring you Unconscious Bias Series: Delve Deep into Gender Bias through the lens of inclusive leadership. The series will be offered asynchronously – you’ll be able to do it at your own pace – via Thinkific with opportunities for real-time conversations throughout the course. The Unconscious Bias Series is back with a fresh format and new community facilitator!

Over the past two years, the Cultural Alliance has explored Unconscious Bias in areas of race, class, accessibility, age, and gender in virtual workshops. These series were produced during the height of the pandemic crisis, which presented new challenges as well as new ways of learning and connecting. Since that time, we’ve heard from participants that there is a desire for a deeper dive into biases and a need for self-guided learning. We also heard from many arts and culture professionals who had to choose between their day-to-day responsibilities and participating in the past series due to limited capacity. Through this new self-guided learning experience, participants will be able to obtain the tools they need on their timeline and on their own terms.

Through the Unconscious Bias Series: Delve Deep Into Gender Bias course on Thinkific, participants will have access to:

  • Four, monthly lecture-style videos, each approximately 30-minutes in length
  • Four corresponding exercises to reinforce skills learned and knowledge gained from the lecture-style videos
  • Four real-time, virtual conversations with the facilitators to reflect, inquire and decompress
  • Recommended readings for further enrichment
  • Assessments to measure growth
  • And much much more

This is the perfect opportunity to recommit yourself to the work of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. With a more convenient format than ever before, don’t miss your chance to contribute to transformational change of our creative industry. As you know, this work is continuous and ever-evolving – continue the work by registering today!

A new session of the Unconscious Bias Series: Delve Deep Into Gender Bias will drop every three weeks and each will build upon the previous session. The release dates will be Monday, April 3, Monday April 24, Monday, May 15, and Monday, June 5.

As we have said all along, this work is continuous and ever-evolving. The thing about Unconscious Bias is that you don’t know what you don’t know! While it’s easy to think that we are equitable when it comes to gender in the arts, this is actually a symptom of Unconscious Bias. Register today to continue your journey of learning
