Philadelphia, PA—The Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance’s STAMP (Students at Museums in Philly) program is planning a blockbuster event for Philadelphia teens, STAMP in Old City, on Thursday, August 14, from 3:30-6:30pm. Hundreds of Philadelphia teens, including participants in Philadelphia Youth Network’s WorkReady Philadelphia internship program, will converge on the historic district for a free afternoon of live music, games and parties throughout six of the area’s top museums and attractions.

Philadelphia—On Thursday, June 11, GroundSwell (a program of the Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance) and Public Citizens for Children and Youth (PCCY) will organize a group of public school students in demonstrations at City Hall, asking City Council members to commit to $105 million for schools and arts education in the FY2016 City budget. 

Philadelphia, 2014—On Tuesday, December 2, the Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance will participate in the nationwide #GivingTuesday campaign to raise additional funds for STAMP: The Virginia and Harvey Kimmel Family Teen Program.

Plans Include Reinstating Youth Arts Enrichment Grants for Philly Students

PHILADELPHIA—June 20, 2014—Philadelphia's arts and cultural sector can officially claim a win on the FY2015 budget for the Philadelphia Cultural Fund. On June 19, City Council approved an amended FY2015 city budget that includes a $1.3 million increase for PCF grantmaking, bringing its budget for grantmaking to $2.9 million and its total budget to $3.14 million. Mayor Nutter is expected to sign the budget into law within the next two weeks.

Philadelphia high school students are now eligible for one year of free admission to 12 of the city’s top museums and attractions thanks to STAMP: the Virginia and Harvey Kimmel Family Teen Program, a new program announced today by the Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance.

Throughout September GroundSwell and Cradles to Crayons are partnering on a school supply donation drive to help local students get ready for the new school year.

It's been six months since the Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance first launched GroundSwell. In honor of their work so far and to say thanks to supporters, GroundSwell is inviting the public to a summer happy hour in the 2013 PHS Pop-up Garden on Broad Street.
