Individual Giving: The Essential Fundraising Tool (Instructed by Ted Swenson & Jennifer Shropshire)

November 17, 2010 - 4:00am

Even in tough economic times, gifts from individuals make up more than 3/4 of philanthropy. No nonprofit can afford to miss the opportunities that individual giving campaigns offer. This course covers all the key aspects, from the most basic - annual giving - to the most complex - capital/endowment giving - and everything in between. It will help you weigh the effectiveness of various fundraising approaches and learn best practices that you can apply to your nonprofit. You will develop tools and techniques that will help you create a comprehensive, coordinated fundraising program for individuals. Course objectives include: understanding the evolution of an individual's philanthropic relationship to your nonprofit; identifying strategies for each type of campaign, which will help you build an integrated donor-focused program that meets your nonprofit's financial needs; and defining and coordinating cultivation, solicitation and stewardship activities directed at individual prospects.
