This course is a complete overview of the process of planning meetings, banquets, special events, and parties. Come learn how just a few special touches can take your regular event and make it a magnificent event! Whether you need to plan an intimate dinner for two, a birthday party, festival, or banquet, this class will provide step-by-step organization, planning, budgeting, site selection, and timing strategies.

Deena Weems Thornton graduated from Kutztown University with a degree in Communications, concentrating in Public Relations. Deena has 15 years of experience planning various events and fundraisers, and has served as Special Events Coordinator at Philadelphia College and is currently the Director of Development for a local non-profit. In 2001, 2006, 2008 and 2009, she was named one of Philadelphia's Most Influential African American Leaders by a leading Philadelphia magazine.
