Because most charities’ Form 990s are instantly available on the internet, they can be a charity's most important public relations document. They can also be traps for the unwary that lead to confusion, serious adverse publicity, and governmental sanctions.

Who Should Attend: This course is designed for key administrators and board members of 501 (c) 3 organizations.
Level of Difficulty: Beginner to Intermediate

Fundraising Practices: Track it Right! Book it Right! Report it Right!

What is the right way to account for special events? When are government dollars considered program revenue and when are they fundraising revenue? What IS a fundraising expense? This session answers these questions and provides suggestions for managing anyone who assists you in fundraising, including board members, staff, consultants and volunteers. The discussion closes with information about donor privacy, appropriate donor policies and provides the opportunity for participants to critique their own fundraising materials.
 
Who should attend: This program is designed for individuals responsible for fundraising and/or the financial management of nonprofit organizations.
 
Level of difficulty: Beginner to Intermediate

·         Discover best practices for accounting for fundraising dollars (grant writing not covered in this workshop)
·         Discuss procedures for managing volunteers and staff who assist in your fundraising efforts
·         Study appropriate donor policies and apply your learning to your organization's fundraising solicitation

·         Samples of your fundraising solicitations and acknowledgements to critique your own materials
·         Your most recent Form 990
