The results are in! 10 organizations undertook diverse audience-building projects as part of the recent Wallace Excellence Awards initiative, Road to Results: Effective Practices for Building Arts Audiences. This report pinpoints nine practices, each supported by evaluation data that successful efforts had in common—from recognizing when change is needed and identifying a target audience that fits; from removing barriers and providing multiple ways in; and from aligning the organization around strategy to preparing for success.
In this three-part webcast series, representatives of the organizations featured in The Road to Results will detail key takeaways on audience research, program and organizational planning, evaluation, successes, challenges, impact and lessons learned. Museum colleagues representing AAM Professional Networks will provide perspective and examples from the museum field.
