The Boyd Theatre was known as the Sam Eric when it closed its doors in May 2002. Now a passionate group of advocates are seeking help from the community to restore this Philadelphia landmark.

Recap: GroundSwell Tulip Planting in Mantua with PHS and the Mantua Civic Association

On Saturday, November 9th, 17 GroundSwell volunteers joined the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society to pitch in on the Mantua Civic Association's neighborhood-wide "Bulbs not Bullets" tulip planting and beautification campaign. We had volunteers of all ages, from grade schoolers to grandparents, and several neighborhood residents ended up joining in as well!

Local Art Studio Needs Your Help!

Dupree Studios, located at 3617 Haverford Avenue in Mantua, has been owned and operated by local artist James Dupree since 2005. In December 2012, the City of Philadelphia seized the deed of Dupree Studios and granted acquisition to the Philadelphia Redevelopment Authority in accordance with Pennsylvania Eminent Domain Code.
