After a year-long process of collaborative work with the cultural community and stakeholders around our region, the Cultural Alliance is both honored and excited to share with you our bold, new Strategic Plan: Co-Creating Our Future. Read the full plan on our website

Applications for the Cultural Alliance’s Bloomberg Arts Internship summer 2025 program are open now through February 28! The Bloomberg Arts Internship (BAI) is a national program for rising high school seniors facilitated by the Cultural Alliance in Philadelphia and other partner organizations in New York City, Baltimore, Washington, D.C., Boston, Detroit and San Francisco. Interns are paired with local arts and culture organizations to gain paid, real-world work experience while participating in professional development sessions, cultural immersion activities, and post-secondary readiness workshops. In 2024, the Cultural Alliance placed 80 interns at 39 cultural sites across the city. Learn more about participating in BAI and read interviews with past interns on our website

We are pleased to announce the awardees of the 2024-2025 Creative Sector Flex Fund, a program administered by the Cultural Alliance on behalf of the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts. In this round of funding, 80 organizations received a total of $400,000 in grants to support arts and culture across Southeastern Pennsylvania. The distribution of the Flex Fund helps fulfill the Cultural Alliance’s strategic objective to strengthen our sector’s capacities. Congratulations to all of the recipients! See the full list of awardees.

This month, three PA CultureCheck Listening Sessions will be held by the Cultural Alliance, the Greater Pittsburgh Arts Council, and PA Humanities. These sessions will explore preliminary findings from PA CultureCheck. They offer the opportunity to share your insights and perspectives about the ongoing research and connect with your peers from across Pennsylvania’s cultural community. Organizations are invited to participate in any of the sessions, regardless of their location. Registration is required. 

  • Pittsburgh: January 16, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. Register
  • Statewide: January 28, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. Register.
  • Philadelphia: January 29, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. Register.

    The Delaware County Symphony (DCS) is the official Symphony-In-Residence at Neumann University in Aston PA (Delaware County) since 1986. Each season it performs four full symphonic concerts and four intimate chamber concerts including three solo piano recitals in the beautiful 300 seat Meagher Theater. Since its inception the DCS has performed over 264 concerts and brought the joy and beauty of the classical tradition to over 79,000 plus patrons in our region. They have now expanded their perspective about new audience members and we have widened it in a furry unique way.

    Standing on the shoulders of elders who fought for women’s rights, ANNA Crusis is furthering feminism and music to incite social change into the future. The longest-running feminist women’s choir in the United States, founded in 1975, ANNA’s current membership embraces diversity of age, ethnicity and gender identity. Their musical repertoire reflects the rich spectrum of human lives and struggles, shedding light on issues facing immigrants and refugees, young people, women, the LGBTQ+ community, and others. ANNA self-produces two major concerts each year and performs many community outreach programs throughout the season such as benefits, rallies, LGBTQ+ community events, prisons and shelters — anywhere that music can bring a sense of hope and empowerment. ANNA is also a founding member of Gay and Lesbian Association of Choruses (GALA) and a member of Sister Singers Network, a cooperative web of feminist ensembles and musicians working together to support and enrich the women’s choral movement.

    PhillyCAM is a community media center that operates the City of Philadelphia’s public access cable television channel and is the license holder of the low power FM radio station WPPM 106.5 FM.  PhillyCAM is a facilitator, creator, aggregator, and distributor of hyper local media that reflects Philadelphia’s cultural diversity.  We are the only regional non-commercial media outlet devoted entirely to the teaching, creation and distribution of locally-produced media content on cable television, online and on FM radio.  

    Our mission is to bring together the people of Philadelphia to make and share media that promotes creative expression, democratic values and civic participation. Anyone who lives or works in the greater Philadelphia region can become a PhillyCAM member and receive free to low cost access to video and audio production training and distribute non-commercial content on our platforms.
