In support of robust arts access and education opportunities for the next generation of makers and cultural consumers, we're proud to join the Philadelphia STEAM Initiative, along with the Franklin Institute, the Independence Seaport Museum, the Philadelphia Education Fund, the School District of Philadelphia, the University City Science Center, The 21st Century Partnership for STEM Education, (21PSTEM), the Teaching Institute of Excellence in STEM (TIES), and the Barra Foundation.

Teens Celebrate End of Summer Internships with STAMP Party at Old City Museums

Philadelphia, PA—The Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance’s STAMP (Students at Museums in Philly) program is planning a blockbuster event for Philadelphia teens, STAMP in Old City, on Thursday, August 14, from 3:30-6:30pm. Hundreds of Philadelphia teens, including participants in Philadelphia Youth Network’s WorkReady Philadelphia internship program, will converge on the historic district for a free afternoon of live music, games and parties throughout six of the area’s top museums and attractions.

STAMP Launches Teen Internship Program with WorkReady, Bloomberg Philanthropies

In partnership with the WorkReady summer internship program, the Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance's STAMP teen program has received a grant from Bloomberg Philanthropies to connect 25 rising high school juniors with summer job opportunities at 16 arts and culture institutions.

As PCCY and students from Philadelphia schools visit with City Councilmembers to share the importance of keeping the arts in schools, we're asking you to take action on social media by joining the Twitter Chat and tweeting messages of support using #PHLArtsEd. Students to Make Third Plea to City Council to Protect Budget for Arts Education

Philadelphia—On Thursday, June 11, GroundSwell (a program of the Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance) and Public Citizens for Children and Youth (PCCY) will organize a group of public school students in demonstrations at City Hall, asking City Council members to commit to $105 million for schools and arts education in the FY2016 City budget.

On Tuesday, May 12, GroundSwell will join Citizens for the Arts in Pennsylvania and the Pennsylvania Arts Education Network for PA Arts & Cultural Legislative Visits Day. We will take 50 advocates from Southeastern Pennsylvania to Harrisburg to meet with their elected officials and discuss the importance of arts education in the Commonwealth.
