In Response to the Killing of Daunte Wright

Daunte Wright, only 20 years old, was killed by police during a traffic stop in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota. We join in mourning Wright’s loss and express outrage at yet another Black life taken by those sworn to protect. We solemnly reaffirm our value that Black lives matter and that killings of people of color must end along with the systemic racism that sustains these heinous acts.

If you want to help, you can donate to the family’s GoFundMe (opens in new tab) to cover funeral and burial costs or the Minnesota Freedom Fund (opens in new tab) to cover bail payments. You can also speak out by sharing Wright’s story (opens in new tab) within your personal networks and social media and by calling for an independent investigation of Daunte Wright’s death by contacting the office of Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz (opens in new tab), the office of Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison (opens in new tab), and the county attorney for Hennepin County, Mike Freeman (opens in new tab).
