The Community Arts Center (CAC) is accepting application materials for Summer Spree Art Camp Teacher.
Summer Spree is an art camp for children ages 6 – 12 (children entering grades 1 – 6), located at the CAC in Wallingford, PA. Arts activities and experiences form the foundation of our camp, which is designed to foster creativity and freedom of expression. Visual arts, music, play, and nature form the creative engine of this unique camp experience.
Summer Spree offers weekly camps throughout the summer from June 21 through August 27. Classes run from 9 am – 3 pm, Monday through Friday. Classroom art activities are supplemented with ceramics, movement, dramatic play, hiking, music, tie dye, and special projects taught by visiting artists.
Responsibilities:
- Create and present developmentally appropriate, arts activities for children ranging from 6 – 12 year old
- In conjunction with Summer Spree Coordinator and CAC Program Director, prepare for the week (create curriculum, organize supplies, etc.)
- Teach from 9 am to 3 pm, Monday through Friday (breaks are built into each day)
Qualifications:
We are seeking individuals with a background in teaching the visual arts who are excited about working in a collaborative, supportive, and FUN environment. We value a teaching approach that includes skill building and developing creative expression while also being child-led when possible. Teachers must be dependable, responsible, and prompt. Applicants must have up to date PA Clearances. Teachers must be committed to following COVID safety procedures.
Compensation:
This is a temporary hourly position. Hourly salary is commensurate with experience. This position does not include health or retirement benefits.
