About CMS: Community Music School is a non-profit organization founded in 1991 where music education is at the core of our programming. Through private music lessons, classes, ensembles, a community concert series and art gallery, our mission is to contribute to the cultural life of the communities that we serve with programming for all ages.  Community Music School’s Trappe location holds 20 teaching studios and a 200-seat performance hall. With more than 500 students participating in our music programs each week, Community Music School has become the region’s premiere resource for the highest quality music education.

About the Program: Creative Kids is an arts-based early childhood program that runs for the full school year September through May. Your budding little artist will experience music, movement / dance and visual art activities led by professional Teaching Artists each week. Arts-based learning helps inspire active participation, imagination and creativity while developing comprehension, memory and a lifelong love and appreciation of the arts. In order to enroll in Creative Kids, children must be 3 years old and potty-trained.  9-month program (Monday / Wednesday / Friday) beginning Monday, September 9th through Friday, May 22nd from 9AM-12PM.

About You:

  • 2+ years’ experience working with children in a classroom setting.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred (work experience equivalent will be considered).
  • Pediatric CPR / First Aid Certified or willing to obtain.
  • Passionate about inspiring youth by providing well-rounded, quality instruction to students by following our core values.
  • Maintain open and frequent communication with parents and students in order to support their educational progress, maintain enrollment and ensure each student has an exceptional experience at CMS.
  • Ability to Encourage consistency in participation and attendance.
  • Ability to tailor your teaching to the individual needs, abilities and goals of each student while teaching fundamental school readiness skills.
  • Inspires students through your passion, talents and love for teaching, which in turn will foster their artistic and personal growth.
  • Engage yourself and your students with the CMS community and actively support the school's mission.
  • Have knowledge of CMS’s educational & performance programs and recommend programs that will stimulate and expand your student’s artistic education.
