Gift Store and Bike Rental Associate

The Encampment Store is a non-profit 501 (c)3 cooperating association whose mission is to support the interpretive, educational, scientific and historical activities of Valley Forge National Historical Park.

We are seeking several seasonal, part-time and full-time associates for our museum store and bike rental operations. Ideal candidates will have friendly and outgoing personalities, positive outlooks, flexible schedules and proven skills in either retail sales or visitor service. Experience with bikes is not required but a huge plus. 

We are looking for 1 - 2 associates to work our museum store on weekends (8 - 16 hours per week) starting April 1st, and additional associates for the museum store and bike rental stand from Memorial Day through Labor Day (or mid August, 24 - 32 to 40 hours per week). New hires will be cross-trained in the bike rental and retail store operations.

Responsibilities include:

Providing outstanding customer service and visitor orientation

Performing opening and closing operations for the museum store and bike rental

Cash handling

Selling trolly tour tickets and taking tour reservations over the phone

Restocking items on the sales floor in museum store

Maintaining store and rental shed cleanliness

Counting and checking-in new inventory in museum store

Communicating safety guidelines to bike renters

Inspecting bikes before and after rentals

Cleaning rental bikes

Tagging bikes in need of repair

Communicating supply needs to supervisor

We're in Valley Forge National Historical Park located approximately two miles from the King of Prussia Mall and parking at our site is free.
