Carpenter/Fabricator – Atelier PHL

The ideal candidate is a skilled carpenter / fabricator possessing a strong work ethic with innovative problem solving abilities, and an interest in working in a collaborative environment. This position is responsible for the production of custom made museum crates, travel frames, inner boxes, and inner components that are at times, complex. 

Qualification Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a wood or fabrication shop where a high degree of craftsmanship is required
  • Proficient in the safe use of power and hand tools, including with table saw, chop saw, band saw, nail/staple guns, and routers (required) 
  • Familiarity with the design-build process
  • Ability to perform mental arithmetic and have strong attention to detail
  • Ability to visualize and plan for each stage in complex build processes
  • Must be able to stand for up to 8 hours and be able to lift 60lbs
  • Interest in design and functionality as it relates to the art objects and packing requirements
  • Previous experience in the art world is a plus, and/or an interest and dedication to the craft of woodworking.
  • Knowledge of Sketchup or 3-d design programs is a plus, and an interest in learning new programs

$17.00 - $19.00 / Hour starting pay rate plus benefits. 

Ability to work 4+ Days a week required
