Ceramics InstructorsCeramics Instructors Abington Art Center is seeking experienced Youth and Adult Ceramics Instructors for our Fall 10 Week Session beginning the week of September 15th. Located on a historic 27-acre campus in Jenkintown, PA, just outside of Center City Philadelphia, Abington Art Center presents art exhibitions, visual arts classes and cultural events for the Montgomery County and Philadelphia area, along with private events. This fall we are in need of experienced ceramics teachers to provide instruction for the following classes: Wheel Throwing for 9-12 year olds Teen Ceramic Studio- this class provide instruction in handbuilding and throwing Clayworks - a handbuilding class for 7-9 year olds Introduction to Wheel Throwing - an adult beginner wheel throwing class. Our youth classes are 1.5 hours per class and provide instruction to both new and returning students. Our adult class is 3 hours per class and takes students step by step through the throwing process. Wheel Throwing teachers must demonstrate a high level of skill in all areas of throwing. Knowledge of the ceramic process is essential. The ideal candidate is also organized, has strong communication skills. Ability to inspire and motivate students while fostering their creative expression. Compensation: $25-$30 per hour |
