About us: The Unscripted Project is a Philadelphia-based nonprofit that empowers young people by developing their social-emotional and interpersonal skills through the transformative power of improv. We partner with public middle and high schools to deliver 10-week, in-school improv residencies, taught by professional teaching artists.

Job Description: We’re hiring Teaching Artists for our Fall 2025 semester. This is a flexible, paid position ideal for experienced improv performers or educators who care deeply about equitable education and creative youth development.

  • Facilitate Unscripted’s in-person improv curriculum in Philadelphia public schools (middle and/or high school level)
  • Collaborate with staff and co-teachers to adapt and evolve curriculum to meet student needs
  • Track and reflect on student growth in communication, collaboration, and confidence
  • Attend a mandatory Training Retreat on Wednesday, August 13th 2025
  • Teach weekly classes for a 10-week residency (schedule determined before semester begins)
  • Optional: Opportunities may also arise to teach corporate professional development workshops
