A/V Technician ( Part Time)The AV Technician will be based on-site and will provide on-site AV services to include troubleshooting, installation, and maintenance of electronic communication systems including but not limited to video conferencing, audiovisual, projection, pro audio, video control. This role requires a detail-minded, technically skilled individual with strong customer service and problem-solving skills; able to multi-task and think quickly on your feet in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Provide technical support to museum staff to ensure the Core Gallery AV System and Special Programming AV System are properly functioning. Responsible for the safe and correct diagnosis of faults, test, implementation, and operation of all aspects of audiovisual, video conference, display, and presentation technologies. Support live events as needed. Qualifications AV System knowledge gained in service or operational environment Experience operating, troubleshooting and supporting a variety of AV systems Experience with AV tools and common test equipment Basic understanding of network architecture Understanding of control system software Understanding of DSP and related software Understanding of media servers and content streaming Understanding of typical digital signage systems and associated networks Extensive experience in operating, troubleshooting, and supporting a variety of AV systems including event environments Ability to read, understand and convey schematics from CAD files Understanding of Network Architecture and IT systems Experience with projector alignment, blending, lamp, and filter changes Experience or training on DSPs and related software including, but not limited to; QSC, BiAmp. Training on VC systems, codecs, and software including, but not limited to; Cisco, Polycom, Zoom, WebEx, GoToMeeting, Bluejeans, Teams, Google Hangouts, etc. High level of customer service skills dealing with fellow staff and public Ability to analyze situations, make decisions, and solve problems under pressure. Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy and detail. Ability to maintain positive working relationships with management, co-workers, clients and vendors. Ability to communicate effectively face-to-face, in groups, and via telephone and written communication. Intermediate experience with Microsoft suite of products Includes weekend and after-hours work – Typical schedule is Thursday 1-9, Friday 9 -5 pm and Saturday 9-5 pm |
